Meet the Social Media Coordinator: Yifan Wu (ARAD ’28)

Hi! I’m Yifan Wu. I was born and raised in Shanghai, China. After completing my undergraduate degree in Art History & Psychology at NYU, I chose to pursue Arts Administration because I hope to build a career connecting arts organizations with the public through thoughtful programming, strategic communication, and community engagement. Especially, I hope to increase the visibility of women artists and artists of color with my career. 

What previous experiences have led you to the SMC role?

I have always seen myself as a creative content creator. For years, I have run a personal RedNote account to share accessible art history and guides to various art museums. I also have an educational Instagram account called “Her Art Index,” where I highlight overlooked women artists and exhibitions featuring women artists. Besides my personal accounts, I also work as Social Media Manager for Accent Sisters, New York, where I create written and visual content for exhibitions, events, and public programs. 

What are your other professional experiences?

I have also worked at RIVAA, a nonprofit gallery supporting the local artist community of Roosevelt Island, and the Skyscraper Museum, a nonprofit museum dedicated to the urban and architectural culture of New York City. Beyond fine art, I have also directed NYU GALA 2026, an integrated performing arts production with 100+ crew and 800+ attendees.

What are you looking forward to in taking on this role?

I hope to build stronger connections among prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, and the broader arts community. With the power of social media platforms, I wish to represent and cheer the achievements of my peers and professors, and also share useful information and tips to help you thrive!

Yifan Wu is an art history educator, content creator, poet based in New York City. She earned her B.A. in Art History & Psychology from New York University and is now pursuing the M.A. in Arts Administration at Teachers College, Columbia University. As an emerging art administrator, she is dedicated to increasing the visibility of women artists and artists of color.
