Alumni Spotlight: Ty Cooperman(ARAD ’20), Director and Registrar at TW Fine Art

Bio: Tyler (Ty) Cooperman is a New York-native with a passion for blending business and fine art. Ty first entered the professional-side of the arts as a freelance marketing and brand consultant, working with a number of Fortune 500 businesses. In his early twenties, Ty co-founded the queer art collective, “Anti-Renaissance,” which was named one of the most “game-changing” art collectives in the world by publication Indie Mag in 2017. Ty is a film photography enthusiast in his spare time (his photographs have been featured in a variety of magazines such as SurfaceDazedCrackV, and Papertrail and have also been exhibited by the Leslie Lohman Museum).

Ty graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, from New York University with a BA with Honors in Art History, and was a recipient of the Eileen Guggenheim Award. He received his MA in Arts Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University in 2020, where he was the recipient of the Barnett Family Scholarship and inducted into the Teachers College at Columbia University Honor Society.
