Rosa Li recently graduated with honors from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she earned a Bachelor of Music and Performer Diploma in Piano Performance, as well as a minor in Economics. While at IU, Rosa served as an Associate Instructor of Piano and worked for two years as a part of a select student team for Project Jumpstart, the founding organization of the Jacobs School’s Office of Entrepreneurship and Career Development. She has recently held marketing and development internships with Portland Piano International, the Pacifica Quartet, and Chamber Music Northwest. Rosa’s goal is to maintain an active career as a pianist while being professionally involved in a performing arts organization that aims to support music education and developing music technologies. Alumni News: Eric Oberstein’s Latin Grammy Win
The ARAD program is pleased to congratulate our alum, Eric Oberstein, on his Latin Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Album!
Oberstein served as Producer on Final Night at Birdland,the live album on Zoho Music featuring Arturo O’Farrill and the Chico O’Farrill Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra’s final performance at Birdland. The recording took place in New York City following a 15-year Sunday night residency, recorded on June 26, 2011 and released on August 13, 2013.
In 2010, Oberstein produced the Chico O’Farrill Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra’s tour to Cuba, returning legendary Cuban composer and arranger Chico O’Farrill’s musicians (an 18-piece Latin jazz big band, directed by Chico’s son, pianist Arturo) to his homeland for headlining performances at the 26th edition of the Havana International Jazz Plaza Festival.
Oberstein served as Executive Director of Arturo O’Farrill’s New York-based non-profit, the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, before returning to his undergraduate alma mater, Duke, to serve as Associate Director of Duke Performances, Duke’s performing arts presenting organization. He has produced five albums with O’Farrill to date, including the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra’s newest album, The Offense of the Drum.

Student Spotlight: Aaron Novak
Aaron is interested in museums with a specific focus on ancient art, archaeology and history museums with a focus on marketing, development and exhibition development. Previously, he worked at the Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem where he acted as the Director of Special Projects. He is currently interning with Third Eye, an arts marketing, PR, and branding firm in New York City and spends whatever free time he has left exploring the endless landscape of arts that this city has to offer. Student Spotlight: Eun Jin Kang (Jin)
Jin believes in expanding access to art through experiential curation and new media technology. In addition to co-founding a multidisciplinary art event design agency, DAU al SET, Jin has worked in diverse arts and culture organizations in both for- and non-profit sectors. Jin is both passionate and knowledgeable in contemporary art, emerging and new media art, and arts marketing through digital platforms. As an effective communicator, Jin has organized and facilitated gallery exhibitions, art fairs, multimedia performances, film screenings, and public events. Jin is also a bilingual arts and culture writer and has participated in a variety of public speaking events.
